Six fencers are flag-bearers at Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony

RIO DE JANEIRO (August 5) – The sport of fencing was represented by six flag-bearers at the spectacular Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Summer Games on Friday.

Brazilian President Michel Termer declared the Games of the 31st Olympiad open amid an extravagant show of music and fireworks.

Among the flag-bearers for 207 National Olympic Committees during the Parade of Nations were fencers from Benin, China, Hungary, Republic of Korea, Venezuela and Vietnam.

They were Lei Sheing (CHN), Gu Bongil (KOR), Aron Szilagyi (HUN), Ruben Limardo (VEN) and Vũ Thành An (VIE) and Yémi Apith (BEN).
