Fencing is one of only four sports who have featured at every Olympic Games of the modern era. Since 2004 all three weapons (epee, foil and sabre) are Olympic. Men and women compete in all three weapons in the individual events, but as fencing has only ten Olympic medals to cover 12 categories, there are only four team events with two disciplines being rotated out at every Olympic Games.
